The term “hacker” used to have a more positive definition. The original definition was:
An expert or enthusiast of any kind; one who enjoys the intellectual challenge of creatively overcoming or circumventing limitations.
Hackers are self motivated…
…they’re problem solvers…
…they question conventional answers…
…and they share their findings with the world.
What Tithehacker is all about
This is the mission of Tithehacker:
- To increase the financial literacy of the Body of the Christ. The kind of literacy that leads to greater earning power, increased capital appreciation, and greater net worth.
- To destroy the bondage of debt from the church.
- To teach the spiritual principles that lead to greater financial increase.
- To provoke a revolution of giving that leads to greater global evangelism and discipleship.
We do this by highlighting the strategies, patterns, and principles of successful Christian millionaires and billionaires. We’re like FORBES for the church! 🙂
Is that you? Not a millionaire or billionaire yet?
No worries. We’re all on the journey. Grab a seat. Let’s take a ride!
Who Am I?
My name is Mike Holmes.
When I first looked into the power of tithing I was unemployed, broke, in debt, and depressed. My wife was about to leave me because she had had enough and didn’t see a way out with me.
I was Christian. A born-again-blood-washed-water-and-fire-baptized Christian.
A man on fire for Jesus!!
But I was broke, couldn’t hold a job, was in debt, and was wondering WHEN would God bless me.
I was always attracted to the concept of wealth…
…was always looking for ways to make a quick buck…
…read all the self improvement books I could find…
…always took the job with the “six figure” potential. Regardless, I whether I liked the job or not…didn’t matter…money was money…
…but I couldn’t seem to get ahead.
One day I remember walking in a Barnes and Noble (yeah I know Barnes and Nobles lol) trying to find out some information about this “tithing” stuff. Prior to bookstore visit, I had this strong impression to try tithing. Which didn’t make any sense to me because I NEEDED money. I didn’t NEED to GIVE it away.
So I went to the “Christian” section and tried to find a book on Tithing. I couldn’t find it. I found book on these topics:
But nothing on Tithing.
I thought to myself: “Self, why don’t you create a site on Tithing?”
Myself shot back: “What do YOU know about tithing?!”
And we went back and forth like this for a while (myself and I)…it took some time… but the rest is history.
“But wait Mike,” you might ask. “How did your tithing experiment end up?”
Well…ever since that time I HAVE kept tithing. Here are the results thus fur:
- My income has gone up every year and I’m now a 6 figure earner (unreal!)
- My debt has decreased significantly.
- My family relationship has increased ten-fold.
- My giving has gone up every year,
So that’s my story. But it’s not over.
Neither is yours.
So let’s continue to embark on this journey together.
